BETHEL SEVA ASHRAM

The trust is registered with the Charity Commissioner, Ahmedabad (Registration No. E/16751/ Ahmedabad dated 13-5-2004), for the general welfare of the society. One of the objects of the Ashram is to set up a well-equipped Old Age Home. One of the objects of the Ashram is to run a home for the upliftment and betterment of underprivileged children residing in the city of Ahmedabad.

It is the administrative headquarters of the Ahmedabad district and the seat of the Gujarat High Court. Ahmedabad's population of 5,633,927 makes it the fifth-most populous city in India, and the encompassing urban agglomeration population estimated at 6,357,693 is the seventh-most populous in India. Ahmedabad is located near the banks of the Sabarmati River, 25 km from the capital of Gujarat, Gandhinagar, also known as its twin city.

The times are changing. The Social structure of society has undergone a profound change. The bond of affection between parents and their children has become fragile. In their lurch for money, children migrate to developed countries and ignore the welfare of their parents. Older people are often not treated with respect. Apart from the vast generation gap, due to social, economic, domestic, and personal reasons, the young generation does not prefer to stay together with their parents at their old age. Several elderly parents are mercilessly driven out of their house. Several live a hell-like life in their own home. The number of such dejected old persons increases day by day. Unexpected calamities in life such as financial breakdown, untimely death of children, etc., have also brought several older people to the streets with nobody to look after. For several elderly, the dream of a peaceful life at the fag end of their life has been shattered and broken down like a glasshouse. They live in starvation, utter despair, shock, and tears.

We, in india, have no much facilities for the welfare of the old aged persons. BETHEL SEVA ASHRAM has, therefore, made a humble beginning by starting an old age home, “Karunya Bhawan“, at 14/21 Sainik Society, Vatva, Ahmedabad, which can accommodate only twelve elderly persons without regard to caste, creed, race or religion. and provide everything absolutely free of cost. The number of people seeking admission in the old age home is increasing day-by-day.

BETHEL SEVA ASHRAM has worked out a detailed stage-wise project in the outskirts of the Ahmedabad City to provide a peaceful life for at least 250 elderly persons absolutely free of cost. The task is Herculean. We are but hopeful that we can achieve it with the co-operation of philanthropist like you.
